They Must Not Think Very Much of Us
The Bush administration has blocked a planned web release of a Pentagon study that determined there was no pre-war link between Saddam Hussein and al Qaida. Instead, they will mail a copy to reporters if it is requested. Obviously, this is nothing more than a strange attempt at a delay because the study will no doubt be scanned and on the internet in no time. More from McClatchy:
In making their case for invading Iraq in 2002 and 2003, President Bush and his top national security aides claimed that Saddam's regime had ties to Osama bin Laden's al Qaida terrorist network.
But the study, based on more than 600,000 captured documents, including audio and video files, found that while Saddam sponsored terrorism, particularly against opponents of his regime and against Israel, there was no evidence of an al Qaida link.

Phil, I get the updates up about a half hour after she sends them if blogger's acting right.
Congratulations on your little fella's walking. There are miracles afoot in the world, indeed. . . .
Olbermann is due the next HOWARDLY.
yes and the little guy will never know how big those steps really are, but mom got her sis to babysit and took the weekend off at the Wisconsin Dells, and what did she report from her stay at the Resort ... she slept lol been quite a journey
But new research suggests that their colonies are actually hotbeds of devious, selfish and corrupt behaviour.
And it is the royal family - or male ants carrying a so-called "royal" gene - that are largely to blame.
Ferraro wants an apology.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/12/...
I'm speechless.
Phil - Congrats from me as well about your little guys' walking. Now that is something special to read with all the ugliness going on right now.
Ferraro is clueless, (rather than despicable as I first thought) , where do people like that come from?
I think this whole Ferraro thing is dog-whistling at it's worst. They want to keep the story going to get the racists in PA all riled up. Plus, it helps rile up the women vote. God bless my mother in law. She's a Hillary supporter and a woman of color (Chinese/Jamaican) and she is still supporting Hillary. Good grief.
Phil, that IS good news. And I hope the news just gets better and better.

my son is doing his service break with his church at a shelter/soup kitchen in Seattle next week
I'm guessing if you are doing lacrosse the grass is green, we have snow covered fields yet
I met the head of our Obama caucus at the supermarket and we are calling Edwards people tonight so I best get at it
Iowa holds the for real vote that decides between Clinton and Obama on Sat.

Your son sounds like he has an incredible servant's heart, Phil. guess he gets that from his Dad!
Off to make dinner.
thanks all, Obama calling takes precedence over the blog
For all you folks who don't get cable.
Here's Keith's special comment.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/12...
Back to making dinner.
Keith nails it as usual...and what was up with Pat Buchanan telling a Keli Goff to "shut up" on Dan Abrams' show? He tried talking over her but when she returned the favor he got nasty.
puddle:
I didn't leave that stuff out on purpose nor am I sure that what I wrote was bogus. I think it's from his own writings - books. He certainly isn't mr goody two shoes.
It's nice to hear Phil's little one is doing well and I send good {{{{vibes}}}} listeners way.
Phil, great news about the little fella walking.
Your son sounds absolutely wonderful.
Good luck with your calls.
This is Keith's latest addy. The one upthread doesn't work. At least I hope this is the newest.
Phil, miracles afoot indeed. I'm smiling thinking of him up and about and into everything..as he should be. :-)
Speaking of miracles:
whatsuponplanetearth.com and visit the newest alert page):
Great news, Phil, I echo there are miracles happening.
Keith's comment right on. I'm sure it took courage. I like how he gave credit to the Clintons for supporting him early on when his comments were riling various powers that be. That was real, gracious, and humble, but what he said was correct.
I'm thinking of Jonathan Alter's statement about the Clintons winning ugly. I think that's very true. Maybe with the internet and all, we have awakened a bit, and the tenor of things counts?!
I also liked the analysis of Fararro's statements with a chronology. Somehow racist statements don't mean that people have racist attitudes? It was an interesting pyschological portrait.
But, I've never been a fan of hers. Her husband as a millionnaire realestate developer made her a mite suspect in my eyes. She seemed to be status, wealth, privilege, and remarkably unself aware. Just my long ago impression, which may not be worth anything.
I'm hoping that Obama will concentrate on McCain. Hillary, in my opinion, is pretty much finished except for the scrapping and venom.
Night good people.
Mary, you know what they say about Pennsylvania: there's Philadelphia on one side, Pittsburgh on the other side, and Alabama in the middle.
Voters Prefer Democrat for President
Registered voters prefer a Democrat to be elected president by a wide margin, 50% to 37%, according to the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. But when asked to choose specifically between Sen. John McCain and either Democratic candidate, the results in each case are a statistical tie, capturing the conflict felt by Americans voters.
Sen. Barack Obama edges McCain by 47% to 44%, while Sen. Hillary Clinton edges McCain by a near-identical 47% to 45%.

MSNBC # 212-664-4444, this is the number to MSNBC and tell them you want to leave a message about Keith Olbermann's Special Message. We can let him get initimated to shut up"
Think that last sentence is supposed to say: We *cannot* let him get intimated to shut up.
Try this link for Clinton supporters...
Political wives...a different breed of cat. Watching Mrs. Spitzer. Stoic as hell. What a shame.
"THE HUMAN ELEMENT"
Bhopal survivors march to Delhi: On Feb. 20, survivors of the 1984 Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal began a 500-mile padyatra (pilgrimage by foot) "to assert their fundamental rights to justice and a life of dignity and health." Dow Chemical (the site's owner since it bought Union Carbide) and the Indian government have failed to address the fact that 20,000 people still drink contaminated water and 10-15 people a day are dying from chemical exposure...
I applaud Keith Olberman's special comment tonight as always, but I'm getting tired of him and Stephanie Miller always blaming these outrages on Clinton's advisors.
It's her campaign. It's her responsibility. If she wanted to answer a straight "no" to the question of whether Obama is a Muslim, she could have chosen to do so.
If she wanted to condemn and denounce GeralDINO's self-centered, racist comments, she could have done so with ease.
If Gerry wants to think of herself as a token that's her perrogative, but Obama's support is organic.
Maybe GeralDINO should curl up with his book.
The Clinton campaign's implosion isn't because she's a woman, but because of what kind of woman she is.
Women of America, get a better candidate and I for one will have your back.
Here's how you do a retraction or clarification:
When I spoke the words, "
The Clinton campaign's implosion isn't because she's a woman, but because of what kind of woman she is. Women of America, get a better candidate and I for one will have your back...,"
I did not do justice to my true intent and may have given some the wrong idea.
I don't mean to say that Clinton is a bad person, just that her kitchen sink strategy, especially in light of the slim chance of her turning things around, is unattractive at best and bad for the party and country at worst.
And then, my second statement about women of America...have your back... is just ,kind of, well...stupid. I apologize.

IMO - Obama seems to have time on his side. The more people get to know him and here him, the more they like him. McCain and Clinton seem to have maxed out their familiarity to the point that they are starting to breed contempt...
Hillary argues with God

Also in regard to Geraldine Ferraro, maybe she's not a racist. Maybe she is just clueless, as Phil says.
I am just upset because if the Democratic party is just a bunch of ignorant racist dolts, who blindly follow opportunistic sociopaths, then it is no better than the repugs and we are all screwed.
WAKE UP Central (Alabama) Pennsylvania. America is counting on you!
I knew the Clintonistas would be after Keith. The truth just hurts sometimes. All they have is shooting the messenger.
Keith knew he'd catch heck with this but ya know - where is all the outrage over Clinton? And yes, she is the one in charge so the buck stops with the CO (commanding officer), Hillary Clinton. (That's my honey's Navy jargon FYI) LOL

I watched the video of Olbermann's comment
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3096434/
and called the number - and mentioned that if the Obama people were targeting Clinton's gender the way the Hillary people were targeting race, the media would be all over it. Olbermann did the right thing.
For the record, though this thread is done, i don't know how a state can practice terrorism against its opponents, unles you count U.S. surveillance of peace activists and the like in that category.
