Petition Delivery to Congressman Wexler
Linked to groups: Democracy for Palm Beach County
The Congressman will be speaking at Century Village, Hillsboro Rd.,Deerfiled Beach. I think we should have a DFA presence in attendance as we deliver the Super Delegates petition. He was not available in his office on the Big Day but his assistant recommended, since he would not be back in his office for over a week, that we hand deliver it personally.
Anyone who has buttons, signs, whatever, please bring them along.
Don't miss this opportunity = no doubt there will be press coverage and it would be great advertising for DFA.

Tom, you've reached the correct conclusion.
And now Hillary has a graceful way out of the presidential race -- she can become governor of New York! I understand there will be a vacancy there, soon.
Someone help the old thread readers with an announcement concerning the new thread. Mine is burrowing its way up the thread and won't be noticed because it's no where near the end.

Spitzer is resigning.
---------
Love to see dethroned “saint” Democrat as the fighter for justice..., lol.
Contribution into this system’s hypocrisy is about equal from both Parties’ prominent members and leaders.
That Hypocrisy is not Party but System related…, so don’t expect it to disappear..., lol.
Maybe Hillary will decide to run for Governor in NY.

Hey, we all do it, why not write a song about it?

Please tell us just what the position is of this Super Delegates petition.
Israel Approves Home Building in West Bank
JERUSALEM — The government of Israel said Sunday that it had approved the construction of hundreds of homes in a West Bank settlement north of Jerusalem, a move that could further complicate a peace effort already hobbled by violence.

The announcement slightly eased pressure on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert from the right wing in his government, particularly after a Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem fatally shot eight students, most of them teenagers, at a prestigious Jewish seminary in western Jerusalem on Thursday....

Last comment on Spitzer - earlier ABC reported he was resigning but I don't see that. Also Fox News (I know, I know).
see you all later.
I kind of feel sorry for Hillary as she has really put a lot of her own effort into the race, and Chelsea too, but the Spitzer story is big in dragging out Bill's baggage and if she would bow out now would save the tens of millions contemplated in the Florida and Michigan re-do. There are enough delegates left to take Obama past 2025 and then Party unity begins.
Jackson, MS – Today, Mississippi Superdelegate and Democratic National Committee Member Everett Sanders endorsed Barack Obama, citing his plan to provide affordable health care coverage to every American, improve education and his leadership on Katrina.
Mr. Sanders said, “I believe Senator Barack Obama is the best choice to lead our nation today and bring change that we can believe in here in Mississippi and across the country. He has a plan to provide affordable health care coverage to every single American and put tax cuts in the pockets of middle class families. He believes that every single child in our country deserves a world class education and has fought to make higher education more affordable in the United States Senate, increasing Pell Grants and securing better recognition for our HBCU’s and black colleges. He has a plan to help the Gulf Coast rebuild and has fought for the victims of Katrina here in Mississippi, passing legislation to investigate toxic trailers and leading the way for more funding for Katrina rebuilding. I’m proud to support Senator Obama in this campaign.”
Apparently, he hasn't resigned yet.
"The leader of Republicans in the state assembly, James Tedisco, issued a statement demanding that Spitzer, a Democrat, resign"...
Hmm is this part of bush's wiretapping? going after dems?
I really don't want to know what he was doing.
The Clintons have gotten themselves in a bit of a pickle by saying Obama isn't ready to be trez and then offering him the VP.
Her attack dog Wolfson has had to backtrack and say she won't pick anyone who isn't ready.
Meanwhile, Obama is laughing all the way to the nomination over it.
Wow, I am in shock about Spitzer.
For the record, I've worried about his God complex for awhile and actually wanted his primary opponent, Tom Suozzi, to get the nomination, but voters are lazy and vote for a familiar name and they all knew Eliot.
People with a God complex tend to get into trouble and I figured he would eventually. But I never suspected he would get in trouble doing something illegal. If a fortune teller had told me he'd have a "woman problem" someday, I would have thought of a mistress. But frequenting prostitutes would never cross my mind.
This is huge. I believe he will resign, his approval ratings were horrible anyway and even people who agreed with his positions (for example, special drivers' licenses for migrant workers, which I strongly supported) got discouraged when he would give up on his ideas after only a little opposition.

Sitka, Wolfson is now busy dissing Obama as Veep because O's said in words of one syllable, both in Wyoming and now in Mississippi, that he has no ntention of being her veep.
Woman scorned and all that, LOL!
Monica, yes, David Paterson would move up on a temporary basis, I believe, until a special election could be arranged.
Honestly, I can't say I know a lot about him. During the campaign it was all about Eliot, 24/7. He was the megastar. There was one ad about Paterson's old grade school where the corridors have inspiring names like Responsibility Road and Success Street, but other than that, I can't remember a thing.

Obama had a civil campaign going until the Clintons' desperation turned them ugly."
That's like blaming the victim for being raped. That's what the I/P horror show is all about; everybody blaming everybody else. WE HAVE TO HAVE HE COURAGE TO STOP THIS BLAMING.
As for BO being kootchy cooed by the miliary, how awful. He should be having men working for peace, many of them, standing by him. We have to stop having Commander in Chiefs. It's perpetrates the war and killing themes. And IMO, neither candidate should be CinC. The mindset of war continues despite BO saying we have to change the mindset. Gore says it and means it. BO doesn't, evidenced by his many references to Iran, Pakistan, Afghan.
We desperately need a Peace Pres., desperately.
And stop with the damn sanctions already. They kill the innocents, especially the children and elderly.
Good grief. This country needs to wake up. The more I listen to HC and BO, the more I want to throw them both out and start over.
now gone
I wonder if we will hear Hillary say anything like, "Well, at least Bill never had to PAY for it."
sorry, couldn't resist

I agree with this article...Hillary sucks.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/seth-graha...
OTTAWA - The federal government's plan to phase out incandescent light bulbs isn't such a bright idea, according to Canadians who wrote to the federal Environment Department.
Environmentalists think the plan to ban the energy-sucking incandescent bulbs by 2012 makes perfect sense.
But in 33 pages of feedback on the plan from Canadians to the federal government, people were almost unanimous in panning the initiative. They didn't like being forced to make the change, argued the new bulbs wouldn't fit their lamp shades, worried about more mercury being released into the environment, and said they had major health concerns.
I wonder if we will hear Hillary say anything like, "Well, at least Bill never had to PAY for it."
*giggle*
The POTUS oath of office...
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States
There is a military part of this but unread is the need to work with others.
Does anyone think Hillary will be able to work with other countries that after 50 years distrust us? The same question for McCain?
Obama is the only one who can bridge our relationships with other countries into something resembling global benefit. If Hillary sez she has the experience thne she must agree with NAFTA, CAFTA, the regime change attempt against Sadaam. Repubs will throw up the litany of legal actions she faced. Obama has to unwind from a seemingly shady land deal and McCain is one of the Keating 5.
Hillary knows how to lie, cheat and steal. That may work for the Repub side, but not for Dems.
I always thought Eliot Spitzer looked like a greaseball.

I left for lunch - went to my son's school and am back but my last post is near the bottom. LOL
2:15 PM PST
I haven't seen anything in the press on Obama's news conference with his military backers.
Local news here, they've been asking people on the street about Spitzer and have been surprised to find that people aren't shocked or angry but that virtually everyone agrees he must resign.
I think what makes it worse for him is he spent years prosecuting, among others, the owners of prostitution rings.
The night before Valentine's Day he had an assignation. Yuck.

Obama has won more *blue* states than Clinton. She has no argument.

The four biggest swing states out there are Ohio, Virginia, Missouri, and Colorado. Obama won three of the four.

Hillary's arguments keep falling like bowling pins.
Eliot Spitzer said he had violated his obligations to his familyThe married father-of-three said he had acted in a way that violated his obligations to his family.
Gov Spitzer, a Democrat, apologised to his family
To think I used to admire Geraldine Ferraro - was I ever a fool.
34.
Unless Eliot and Silda Spitzer had some sort of "arrangement" we wouldn't be privy to, I really want her to start divorce proceedngs immediately.
It's time for women to grow a set and stop tolerating bad treatment from their men.
Set a good example for your daughters, Silda, and help hm pack his bags. (Incidentally, that was the deal my parents made in the 40s -- no second chance for either one, were he or she to "stray" -- and it worked like a charm. My dad even quit a carpool because a young and cute woman in the car was coming onto him, LOL.)

Not a fair question, sea, since Gore isn't running and doesn't have field questions. Gore was moderately conservative on such issues when he was in the arena.
Susan - recc'd your thread - I read that over the weekend and it's spot-on. I love his writing!
