Unite for a Progressive President

Written by: E J Zipprich on Jan 31, 2008 10:35 AM

Linked to groups: Monmouth for Democracy/PDA

Well, our true progressive voice has step aside. Sadly, John Edwards lost out to the media. The media has chosen Hillary & Obama. There are your choices against McCain and Romney, the media's other darlings.

This is a greater reason for you to attend Wednesday's DFALink meeting. What do we do now? Talk to other progressives about the two choices left in the race and determine who is the more progressive candidate. Let's throw our support into our congressional and local races since both remaining presidential campaigns are well funded & organized.

Monmouth for Democracy will meet at Racioppi's Kitchen 107 Oakland Street, Red Bank, NJ.

 Ed Hughes will moderate the discussion starting at 6:30. Please "chip-in" for Food & drink at about 12 bucks!

My final grassroots vote just arrived in my e box.

I had to support Nancy as she was the only one of the three who did not write about what religion she belongs to. That is a plus for me, all other things being equal.

Don't fret, Michael.  I sound pissed but my core is calm and I'm off to have a good creative day.

But true progressive have been disenfranchised and what is maybe worse,  I really don't think either BO or HC can win the gen'l.  The corporate powers that be, the New World Order behind the scenes, will see to it....or....my prediction will come true and it'll be a HC/BO ticket, as Rooney also says.  Corporate power wins either way.

 It's interesting that the more affluent educated people seem to go, generally, for BO, whereas the poor and downtrodden for JE.  Do we really have so many people in this country who are doing so well?  Are there really not very many people who are sick and poor and hungry?  It would seem so, the way people are voting.  And why wouldn't the educated affluent folks want to help their less fortunate brothers and sisters the way JE was talking about?  I just don't get it.

What has BO offered the woman and her disabled son that live 2 blocks from me?  I take her clothes and sometimes food.  JE cares about this woman.  What is BO going to do for HER?

I'll go tell the other thread that this one is up.

again, from end of last thread.

"There are now two and only two candidates and DFA should do a poll of the membership and throw the full weight of the organization behind the winner. "

I disagree, and I wouldn't vote.

***************************

Rooney brings some good things here and he's dissed far too much.  Look at the video.  Gary Hart supports the New World Order, which is well on its way to being implemented.  And he endorsed BO?  What does that tell you, Folks?

A New World Order (Novus Ordo Mundi) is a theory that refers to a plan in which a powerful and secretive group, most often referred to as the Illuminati, is to be conspiring to eventually rule the world via an autonomous world government, which would replace sovereign states and other checks and balances in world power struggles. In the new world order, many significant occurrences are caused by a powerful secret group. Historical and current events are seen as steps in an on-going plot to rule the world primarily through a combination of political finance, social engineering, mind control, and fear-based propaganda.[1]

We have an election to win. Pessimism usually comes in last.

Anyone (except maybe Billary) is better than a Republican.

sea,

As I answered you on the previous thread,

It tells me that Gary Gart supports the New World Order, nothing more.

Candidates do not get to CHOOSE their endorsers. They can only distance themselves from them.

We have an election to win. Posting negative things about our only progressive candidate does not help us to win an election.

If you don't like Obama, vote Hillary.

Well, according to Rumsfeld and some of his cronies, the New World Order means that the New World, as opposed to Old Europe, is going to be in charge.  That's what they were thinking when the EU seemed wobbly.  More recently, the countries of the EU have rebounded nicely and the New World dream is a chimera.

Which is probably why Clinton and his buddies are taking a new look at South America and the opportunities in Africa.  This will not solve the problem of American enterprise having gotten used to being protected from competitors by the military establishment.  Being backed up by the armed forces has made them sloppy. slovenly and lazy.

It is obvious to all that JE could not have won the nomination this time around, much less a general election. His voice will be missed yet I'm sure he dropped out because he could see that very thing.

Hubby and I both supported JE until we began to study and know Obama. He has so much to offer and we believe he is more electable in Nov. than is Billary. Out with the old, in with the new. We need a new faces in the WH and in the administration, that's how to jump start this country again.

Ted Kennedy and Caroline can't be all wrong, they see the same thing we do.

Edwards the victim. Right. He ran for president twice and failed twice. He was the VP nominee and got as much free press as anyone.

Face it. Democrats had every opportunity to hear Edwards and harken to his messages over 5 years. And they said no to him unequivocally.

"New World Order" is just a slogan coined by Bushdaddy to justify attacking Iraq in 1991. I'd be surprised if Hart ever even said those words. But please feel free to show where he did.

If you're going to claim something like that you should dig up where he said (or even implied) it and link to it so people can see for themselves. I learned a long time ago to not take people's word for it on the internet.

Gallup national tracking poll results as of last night.  It must be getting harder to swallow over at Clinton campaign headquarters:

"The latest Democratic numbers show Hillary Clinton with a 43% to 39% advantage over Barack Obama among Democratic voters nationwide. That four-point lead is the narrowest since early January, and it is a continuation of gains by Obama. The impact of John Edwards' exit from the Democratic race is less clear. Wednesday night's numbers (the first with Edwards excluded from the ballot) show no clear indication that either candidate is benefiting disproportionately."

President Bush to Host North American Leaders’ Summit

White House News
As he noted in his State of the Union address, the President will be hosting the North American Leaders' Summit on April 21-22 in New Orleans. This fourth meeting of North American leaders since 2005 will continue our work on Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) initiatives. It will also serve as an opportunity for the three leaders to discuss hemispheric and global issues of importance to North America.

Hart used the term referring to Bush not in support of NWO.

It sounded to me like he was praising the idea of Bushdaddy's NWO and suggesting Bushboy should emulate it.

It's pure BS to me. But then, I've never been a Gary Hart(pence) fan.

All the same, if he endorsed Obama it means no more or less to me than any other since I ignore them all.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joan that is not at all obvious to me. Had the media annointed him  the frontrunner, considered him the presumptive nominee, carried his messages like they did Clinton he would be one of the final two.
it is an uphill battle for a progressive because they are taking on  the powers that be it is what defines them
John Edwards and Howard before him faced the same enemies and they define the candidates.
remember the scream was a directional mike and they cut out the crowd
I just don't like silly excuses for his failure to connect with voters in two elections. As soon people stop speaking nonsense about him, I'll stop correcting it.
the poll from Arizona showed him tied with Obama two weeks ago
That supports my contention that Edwards got a fair shake.
