Karl Rove Under Oath
Today, we can double our impact by working together to get Attorney General Alberto Gonzales impeached and Brave New Films has created a brand new video to help you do it.
Check out the new video now:
http://www.ImpeachGonzlaes.orgThe first video hit #1 on YouTube with over 200,000 views. Brave New Films hits hard again with clips featuring Representatives Maxine Waters and Robert Wexler’s tough questioning of Gonzales. His responses are classic double speak, a stark contrast from the forth coming testimony of his top aide Monica Goodling last week.
In Ms. Goodling’s testimony she admitted breaking the law by profiling potential new hires for partisan loyalty. She exposed that Gonzales had tried to manipulate her testimony. And she believes Karl Rove was intimately involved in developing the list of attorneys to fire. No confidence votes are a great start, but if the President won’t fire Gonzales, only impeachment can remove him from office and restore integrity to the Justice department.
Watching the video is not enough to make change happen. Bush won’t fire Gonzales because he thinks we’ll give up. He is just waiting for you to buy the establishment line and move on.
President Bush has underestimated you.
Impeachment hearings are serious trouble for the entire Bush administration. Whistleblower protection for those who tell the truth. Subpoenas that even this Supreme Court will enforce. Karl Rove under oath. The first step is to impeach Gonzales.Who ordered the District Attorney firings? Who illegally deleted hundreds of government e-mails? Who told Gonzales to cover it up? And why didn’t anybody stop him? Impeachment will uncover the truth.
Send this link to your friends and ask others to take action today:
http://www.ImpeachGonzales.orgEveryone of us, if we stop to think for a minute, knows at least one more person who hasn’t signed yet. We all know someone who is ready to stop the Bush administration’s abuse of power. Is it your brother? Sister? A co-worker?
We need to get creative to keep the pressure on. Think out of the box: Call CNN and ask them to play the video and cover the story. Post a blog about this on a local or national website. Embed the video on your MySpace page. What else can you do to get the word out?
Which one of your friends watches Stephen Colbert or The Daily Show? Who listens to Keith Olbermann or Air America? We all know another person that hasn’t taken action yet. Today is their day.Thank you for making change happen!

Nice firsties, lover of Pape! :-)
23 years old with four young children in a trailer park. My teeth are on edge.
I already have the back of my car slathered with Gore stickers. heh heh He's slowly becoming less ambiguous.
Zippity doo da, Zippity A .......
To continue my political position line discussion...
Is there a range which defines someone's view of the Constitution? Is it something like original intent/living document? How is an Alito or Roberts different from a Hugo Black, Bill Douglas or Earl Warren? Is this even a question in the electoral world, or is it purely judicial?
I think it is important, not only for a President who appoints judges, but a legislator's view of the Constitution affects what he or she is an appropriate role for the federal government.
I've been listening to some 1968 radio this afternoon. ON a newscast, Secretary of State Dean Rusk is quoted as opposing a specific date to start withdrawing troops from Vietnam, VP (and Presidential candidate) Hubert Humphrey is quoted as supporting one.
The more things change....
2. Seashell LOL -- he is the best, no contest (Pape I mean -- Al Gore is pretty great too.)
Hey Tom B I enjoyed the video - the dancers were marvelous. The link name was quite interesting.

And i refuse to join the Green Party because they asked for a $10 donation.....instead I took that $ and treated my daughter and me to a Goodberrys ice cream.......she had a chocolate malt concrete and I splurged with a plain vanilla cone.....................cheers
Things are getting heated in Texas over teaching religion in schools. Chuck Norris getting in on the act.

Now, eventually whomever this numbskull was he/she did manage to pull out eventually an pass the 3 cars and yes slow moving truck to hurriedly get to their destination.............
==================
When you run into an idiot like that and you are in a small car the best thing to do is pull over, if you can and wait a minute or two to get out of harm's way. With my MCS, I get bad headache if a really bad polluter gets in front of me and it leaks into my car, and pull over often.

As I have mentioned before on this blog, third party is great idea if we have a run-off system. Without it, a third party is a spoiler, regardless of how well intentioned.

MORE VIOLENT DISLOCATION DRIVEN BY ETHNIC FEARS
In North Iraq, Sunni Arabs Drive Out Kurds
By EDWARD WONG
Published: May 30, 2007
MOSUL, Iraq — The letter tossed into Mustafa Abu Bakr Muhammad’s front yard got right to the point.
“You will be killed,” it read, for collaborating with the Kurdish militias. Then came the bullet through a window at night.
A cousin had already been gunned down. So Mr. Muhammad and three generations of his family joined tens of thousands of other Kurds who have fled growing ethnic violence by Sunni Arab insurgents here and moved east, to the safety of Iraqi Kurdistan...
MAYBE BIDEN HAD IT RIGHT?
...Sunni Arabs have asked for new provincial elections and are growing frustrated that the Shiite- and Kurdish-dominated national government seems to be ignoring their requests.
“We demanded elections a year ago, but it never happened,” said Muhammad Shakir, the local leader of the Iraqi Islamic Party, the province’s most prominent Sunni Arab political group. “The current council does not represent the governorate.....
I guess I'm not alone in this comparison, some Iraqis agree
...“I compare the Sunni Arabs to Bosnian Serbs: their behavior, their way of thinking, their way of acting,” Mr. Goran said in an interview at the fortified government center downtown. “They are for killings, they are for mass graves. Not all of them, but the majority of them.”...
Wow! Back online, my browser literally blew up or something but three hours of work and it's back.
Yes, Fred, Biden was and still is right about Iraq. It always was the only way that country could end up after it was invaded and Saddam removed.
Hope Phil has a great time fishing.
bbl - to the hardware store
Fred - I'm still hanging in there for Joe Biden.
The authors of the Constitution were clearly aware that changes would be necessary from time to time if the Constitution was to endure and cope with the effects of the anticipated growth of the nation. However, they were also conscious that such change should not be easy, lest it permit ill-conceived and hastily passed amendments. Balancing this, they also wanted to ensure that an overly rigid requirement of unanimity would not block action desired by the vast majority of the population.
Can we impeach now?
FREAK snow, ice across Europe...Florida Drought: Lake Okeechobee Ties Record Low Level...At least 16 dead and 1500 stranded as freak snow storm hits Nepal....Argentina cold wave prompts record demand for electricity...By Paul Levy“Bush and his regime could only be getting away with the atrocities they are perpetrating ….because there are an insufficient number of people who see what they are doing, …..because there are enough people who see what is happening and remain silent. (traumatized, feeling impotent) ….is so horrifying that it is literally traumatizing to consciously bear witness to it, to experience it.” (600,000 Iraqi collateral damage, can’t possibly get a visual) “When the atrocity is so inhumane, we dis-associate from the experience, creating a self-protective amnesia…Bush himself counseled us after 9/11, we should just continue shopping….take a plane.” “When our nation is seen as a family system ….the people in the role of the abuser, Bush and his regime, depend upon the tendency for most people to deny the horror ………they will do everything in their power to promote our denial, pretense, and silence. (media) Our becoming silent is the very thing which allows them to literally get away with murder…………” http://www.rense.com/general76/denial.htm And THEN there’s the REST of us. : )

Paralyzed nation!
(Temporarily though. For how long? That's the question.)
Joan
Dr. gave me the green light for a long ride if I get out often and straighten my leg, I'll just await the moment when the traffic gets crazy like described above and pull off to the side. We leave in the morning.
Mainefem
Indeed she was. And that beautiful work is across the country ! :)
Even my mother in Miami new of jc and purchased a hat a few years back.
She is also donning a bumper sticker as is my sister in Ohio.
Upon my return from Miami this weekend, a woman aproached
my car to ask where she could get my t-shirt. I made up business cards with the website so I could pass them out.
And that is exactly what I did.
Wednesday, May 30, at 7:00pm (EDT). Check your local PBS listings.
I just placed my order, Linda (2 Rosie shirts, natch & one Gore '08 T-shirt)...a little late, but it they'll arrive in time for D-Fest.
I do profile nothing but jc's graphics over @Turn Maine Blue, also (even before her death). Sucks, bigtime.
strike "it". Brain is fried rather early today...ouch.
28 mainefem, yes it does. I still choke up when I think of her. But I do have jc all around me :)
I like your flame still burning for jc.
Best guess right now on the Democratic and Republican nominees in 2008?
"Al Gore and Mitt Romney. I think the far right will eventually recoil from Giuliani and pick Romney because he looks like a president and sounds like a Bing Crosby record. And I think Gore can have the nomination for the asking.

Thanks for the support. Not that I'm campaigning for his POTUS, mind you, I just think he's got the best insight for how to proceed from this point.
In our case, it was an evolutionary process taking decades. The Founders started with States, went to a confederacy (I think) and then United in the United States. Bush is doing it ass-backwards. He's trying to start with The United States of Iraq (but it's not about the oil)
Biden was and still is right about Iraq. It always was the only way that country could end up after it was invaded and Saddam removed.
Whether or not Biden is right is beside the point. Americans, especially one such as Clueless Joe who approved invading and wrecking their country on false premises, have no business telling them what to do with their country.
BLOG BOOK CLUB update-
Date change--see below from Greg.
Dear the Blog Book Club Trying to make some sense of it all,But I can see that it makes no sense at all,
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor, ( the house, senate think so)
'Cause I don't think that I can take anymore
Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.
- Congress and the Senate give in and Cindy Sheehan gives up.
- The House Judiciary Committee members hear Monica Goodling reveal the scheme to steal ’08 but don’t even realize it.
- Insurance companies are still ripping off New Orleans
- Vulture Funds continue to swoop down on Third World Countries
- And so much more …
I was put on a last minute assignment with BBC Television for a new hard-hitting story about the latest in the world of Vulture Funds to broadcast early next week – ahead of the G8 Summit in Germany.
So roll up your sleeves and I’ll see you on Thursday, June 7th, at 7:00pm at BlogforAmerica.com
You have the power, take your country back
Your comrade,
Greg
Sounds better to me, anyways, ChrisNYC--too many irons in the fire now (after D-Fest would be even better, i.e., promotion)?
...“I compare the Sunni Arabs to Bosnian Serbs:
It should be remembered that most Bosnian Serbs are just regular people who were caught in a civil war just like most everyone else.
And where does this comparison put alSadr and his brigades? Are they the Bosnian Muslims?
Bottom line: It's nonsense to go around comparing green and red apples to navel and valencia oranges.
Hi Mainefem-- running to our democracyforNYC fundraiser. After D-Fest, you are right--shoot, done deal though I think.
back later all.
so me a favor folks, please email the mayor. of louisville metro, ky.

A little history about Iraq
http://www.truthdig.com/dig/item/2007032...
[snip]
The longer the Americans remain in Iraq, the more violence the Americans bring down on Iraq, and the more the Americans are seen as facilitating the persecution of the Sunnis by the Shiites, the more legitimate the call of the Wahhabi fanatics become. While American strategists may speak of the rise of al-Qaida in Iraq, this is misrecognition of what is really happening. Rather than foreigners arriving and spreading Wahhabism in Iraq, the virulent sect of Islamic fundamentalism is spreading on its own volition, assisted by the incompetence and brutality of an American occupation completely ignorant of the reality of the land and people it occupies. This is the true significance of Baghdad
So Rove is going to be under oath eh?
This reminds me of the scene in the first Indiana Jones movie where a swastika is painted on the crate containing the ARC...The swasticka is removed...
So when good old turd Blossom puts his hand on the bible, I fully expect the Bible to burn his hand with angry heat...
The above comes from the warped mind of a former divinity student...

Do you see military parallels as comparing the british in Arabia and the Americans? The briish at least left behind educatio systems, railroads, organization and England as a base for which Arabs could go to University, become better educated and form the basics for what would later lead to their independance..............
will email the mayor later promise
will in the future do my best to have blog book club on thursdays.
will post the link to jc to buy the book
gotta run.
see ya later. glad the change is working in everyones favor.
Phil...glad you'll be able to wet a line for a while. Remember that on a fishing trip you always catch something...if no fish on the boat surely a buzz back at the lodge : ) But a walleye shore lunch...mmmm!!!
All this talk about SUVs reminded me of a little clip (I know it's old but I like it still).

People would have time to have met Greg; read the book/promote the event; and have taken a few deep-cleansing breaths (end of June, (but before the 4th of July holiday) sounds about right--depends upon schedules--esp. Greg's).
Thanks, again, ChrisNYC.

49,
The British occupation lasted from the 1880s until after WWII. They took power from the French in a rather curious way; the British foreclosed on loans made to the Egyptian rulers and essentially took over because of bankruptcy. Since they weer the banker behind the throne, nothing much changed from the 1880s until WW1 when a lot of soldiers of British allies came through. A lot of money was flowing into Cairo and the starving Egyptians wanted some of it. In 1922, Faud became king of Egypt and starting killing British leaders. Gradually Egyptians erased all of British influence except the military.
They finially overthrew the occupation and became their own country.
There are several differences with Iraq today.
1 - Time: It took Egypt 60 some years vs. 5
2 - The Egyptians gradually wrestled their country from the British. It was slow going
3 - WWII essentially ended the British empire.
4 - There are other differences such as slow moving military convoys to support the British troops. The Brits had no allies.
5 - The British allowed Iraqis to do most of the day-to-day tasks such as mechanics, etc. Today, Iraqis are banned from doing everything.
6 - There wasn't religious strife among the verious Egyptian families. Iraq has three major and seperate divisions.

================
Those who gave the President authority were not declaring war on Iraq. They were two different things. And showing leadership to stabilize the country and stem the bloodshed is not "telling them what to do with their country"
The point being - there is no country. Bush's bogus pseudo-democracy does not represent the people as it supposed to do in theory - but it sounds like you are endorsing that theory.

according to the guy who wrote the Wiki entry:

I've heard AA described as an anarchy. It works pretty well I hear -- if you work it :~)
